Painted in 1937 by Lionel Edwards. Painting chiefly in watercolour of sporting scenes, he studied at the School of Animal Painting in Kensington. Edwards worked fot 'The Graphic' and for 'Punch' before the First World War in which he served with the Remount Service. He painted a series of pictures of named hunts which were produced as limited edition prints and he wrote and illustrated numerous books. Edwards covered most sports and is regarded as one of the principal 20th century sporting artists.
